The Whidbey Island Conservation District has a number of great programs and a wealth of information on a wide range of topics relating to water quality and preserving Whidbey Island's natural resources.  We offer educational workshops, informational handouts, and one-on-one technical assistace.  We welcome you to take advantage of and participate in one of the many programs and opportunities we provide - FREE of charge.

 

 

 

  • Forest StewardshipGot woods?  We can help you with stewardship
        planning that may help you qualify for use tax programs.
  • Sustainable Agriculture - Do you enjoy eating fresh, locally grown
        foods?  Join our efforts and help keep farming alive on Whidbey.
  • Farm Planning - From one acre to 100+ we can offer assistance and
        planning information to help manage your farm practices to meet your
        goals and protect the environment.
  • Annual Native Plant Sale - Looking to restore part of your property or
        adding a privacy screen? Our inexpensive, bare-root plants might be just the
        thing to get your project off the ground!

 

  • Backyard Conservation - Learn natural yard care tips and planting suggestions to attract more wildlife to your yard.  We can work with you to certify your yard as a wildlife habitat.
  • Sustainability - There are many simple things we can do in our homes and our daily activities that will help to reduce our impact on natural resources and help live more sustainable lives.  Check out this page for many helpful tips and links to other resources.
  • Cost-share and Tax Incentive Programs - There are cost-share, tax benefit programs and other incentives for implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs) in many of the program areas listed above.  See if one of the upcoming opportunities is right for you!
